Start with your location and itinerary

Start with the area of Hokkaido where you will stay, then check the paddling area and meeting point. Tours named after the same lake do not necessarily use the same meeting point or paddling area.

NAMARA HOKKAIDO runs its canoe experience at Lake Kanayama in Minamifurano. Meet at the canoe tent opposite the lakeside campsite management building. Plan your journey so you can check in at least 10 minutes before the start.

Check who paddles and where the guide rides

Consider whether you want to paddle yourself or ride in the same boat as a guide, then check the specific plan. With NAMARA HOKKAIDO, guests practise and paddle their own canoe. The guide normally rides separately, explains, supports and accompanies you.

Compare duration and prices on the same basis

Distinguish the full meeting-to-finish duration from time spent on the water. NAMARA HOKKAIDO tours take about 1 hour 30 minutes from meeting to finish. Weather, water conditions and participants’ circumstances may require changes or cancellation.

Check requirements for children, pets and clothing

Meeting an age requirement alone does not confirm eligibility. Check health and other participation requirements too. Pets may not be able to join depending on their type, size and number. Choose clothing that allows movement when wet and secure footwear, and bring spare clothes and warm layers.
